Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Austin follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Called about a specific issue that the person I spoke with seemed to know what the problem was. Dropped my vehicle off first thing in the morning and was told to it would be β€œa couple” hours. Six hours later they finally called with a long list of repairs which seemed a bit overpriced (i.e. close to $50 to change license plate bulbs, etc.). Told the guy I just needed the specific issue I called about repaired. Was told okay and they’d get back to me when it was completed, which didn’t happen. I called before they closed to find out the parts needed wouldn’t be delivered til the next morning. When I went to pick up my truck the next morning the bill was twice what I was quoted on the phone. Apparently they did a $185 diagnostic that they failed to mention nor was it requested by me. When I showed them a coupon off their website for a free inspection they said the coupon only covered a β€œbasic” inspection, whatever that means. Feels dishonest and like I got ripped off. Had it not been an emergency situation I would have gone somewhere else.

Everyone there was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They helped me inspect a car I was considering buying. They gave great advice and excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family :)

Excellent experience at Austin’s Automotive Specialists on Research Blvd. I came in for a Texas state inspection, and they handled it incredibly fast. The process was straightforward, the staff was professional and easy to work with, and they had me taken care of much quicker than I expected. It is refreshing to visit an auto shop that is efficient, organized, and respectful of your time. I would absolutely recommend this location for anyone needing a quick state inspection or general automotive service.

The good - Mike was very professional and even stayed a few minutes late so I could drop off my car. I was headed out of town and scheduled the repair for a time I would not need my vehicle. They even held it for a couple of days as it was ready before my return. The bad - I paid $200 for nothing. I had a couple of error messages that I needed diagnosed and repaired. The diagnostic fee was ~$195. The messages were for "service fuel sensor" and "auto stop/start needs servicing." They were unable to tell me anything about the codes, just said they were dealer codes. My paperwork says simply "refer to dealer for dealer codes." When I asked if they were able to pull any codes, Mike said yes but apparently the tech didn't write them down. Mike was going to look into it and call me back but it's been over one week and no follow up, so I assume they could not find any trace of the actual codes they supposedly pulled. I went to Advance Auto Parts and within 2 minutes had a printout of two error codes. I ended up getting more info for free from the parts store than I did from Austin's Automotive. I've used AAS in the past and was happy with their work but will probably move on

I had some work done on my car at Austin's Auto Specialists (I go here for all of my alignment work) and they replaced a part, which later had some issues. I took it back and worked with Michael(Mike) B. who was a champ and helped me warranty the part and get things replaced and address some other preventative issues. I cannot recommend them and Michael enough.
